A Healthier Home: How Probiotic Cleaners Can Keep Your Space Safe and Germ-Free

In 2018 a group known as the SAN-ICA Study Group looked at how a cleaning product with probiotics (good bacteria) can change the ecology of germs found in a home, especially in areas like kitchens and bathrooms. One key focus was on antibiotic resistance, which happens when bacteria become harder to kill when continuously exposed to chemical cleaners.
The probiotic cleaning product had spores from harmless Bacilli, a type of probiotic bacteria. These spores helped stop harmful germs from growing on surfaces like countertops, sinks, and doorknobs. Once sprayed, the spores turned into active bacteria on dry surfaces. They didn’t just push out the bad germs—they replaced them without creating new germs that resist antibiotics. Even better, using this cleaner reduced the number of bacteria with antibiotic resistance.
The study also checked if these probiotics were safe for people at home. The study shows that these Bacilli are safe for household use and added to the occupants quality of life since the external probiotic is beneficial to the life of humans and animals. The results suggest that probiotic-based cleaning products can help keep homes cleaner and reduce harmful bacteria, making them a great choice for everyday cleaning.
